Just 1 more short week before the pups go home. These past 2 months has been for them and me. They have grown and learned so much. But with all they have been through, this has just been a start of the wonderful journey they will be embark on, when they leave here and go with their new families.
This last week has shown itself to be another busy time for the puppies. It started with a visit to the vet to make sure they are all healthy and ready to be released to their new families. The car ride there together, in an oversized crate, was not their favorite part of the trip, but with the hugs and kisses from the office staff, I am sure they felt it was worth it. With a clean bill of heath, their next adventure was to be Puppy Aptitude Tested. This testing done by a stranger to them is to help determine their personalities. This information, as well as my observations throughout the weeks, will help determine which family they should be placed with. My friend Pat administers the test, and it is hard to tell who enjoys it more - she or the pups. Right before they leave here, they will be getting a bath and another nail clipping. Ugh! Neither is a favorite of the puppies, but it goes quickly, and before you know it they are back with their siblings to play somemore.
In the rotating pictures below, you can see that the puppies have another visitor. This is Maple, Brazin's Aunt, who is now retired from breeding. Maple loved being a mom, and caring for puppies. So she goes in the whelping box, and helps clean and play with the puppies. At times both Brazin and Maple are in the box together. Brazin welcomes the help.
